✨Finally complete!✨ ✨Whew, finally done! I’m so glad I chose to go ahead and push myself to take this advanced course at this time in my career. The course was through The American Institute of Balance and was called: Vestibular Rehabilitation Certification II: Advanced Vestibular Topics.✨ ✨My current experience with this population blended very well with the new research and information from this course. I’ve already found ways to incorporate what I’ve learned to treat more efficiently and effectively! A summary of my takeaways: ✨It is rarely JUST benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (although it makes my day better when I luck out and that’s all it is!). Many complicated neurological conditions (neuritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, migraines, persistent postural-perceptual dizziness) can co occur with BPPV OR mimic similar symptoms.✨ ✨Lifestyle factors play a huge part in long term chronic dizziness. It may not seem intuitive but everything comes back to being healthy and active! Also it typically takes a village from loved ones and multi discipline providers to make positive changes and create effective management strategies.✨ ✨I now have the tools to talk patients through their condition and EDUCATE them to empower them and improve their healing! Healing from chronic vestibular conditions takes time, patience and understanding…a management strategy won’t just be “done” in one visit!✨ #dizziness #vertigo #healing #vestibular #physicaltherapist
