✨Why I Meditate!🧘♀️✨ ✨I became interested in meditation about five years ago when trying to research natural ways to control stress (in addition to diet and exercise). Originally I thought meditation would be too difficult and intimidating since the concept of “clearing your mind” for extended periods of time seemed unattainable (also boring, lol).✨ ✨I’ve realized that an important aspect of meditation is just breathing! I cannot tell you how often I have to remind myself or patients to breathe. Usually if I am stressed I am literally holding my breath.✨ ✨I know some people meditate without any assistance but I have had really good success using guided meditations through an app (there are some for free and also free meditations that can be accessed online).✨ ✨I don’t meditate every day but when I do I definitely feel more calm, centered and am able to take a pause before reacting to difficult situations. Basically it sets me up to be better prepared for stress since I have been “practicing” keeping my mind clear and breathing with daily meditation. ✨ ✨There is no magical solution for improving health but meditation can be thought of as an excellent return on investment in terms of time spent. Overall deep breathing can lead to relaxation, decreased muscle tension/tightness and ultimately decreased pain.✨ ✨If you are interested in learning more about the guided meditations I do or the research that supports meditation (it is extensive!), please DM me!✨ #mindfulness #selflove #fitness #motivation #selflove #choosept
