⭐️As a PT I get questions all the time about stairs! ⭐️ ⭐️Going up and down stairs more easily is almost always an end goal for patients. It varies for everyone! Some people have trouble going up and down period, others have difficulty going up or down without a handrail. Sometimes it’s just a matter of progressing to going up stairs one step after another instead of one at a time.⭐️ ⭐️Stairs are hard because they require strength, balance and coordination. You are essentially doing a single leg squat on one leg while bringing the other leg up at the same time!⭐️ ⭐️In this video I’m going from most stable (sit to stands) on both legs to marches which require more single leg balance.
